Entrepreneurs of 15 local companies are among the 13000 delegates that have registered and are ready to showcase, connect, sell their niche, and make a case for their businesses to investors and the Rwanda diaspora community at Rwanda Day in Washington DC.
According to the document from the ICT Chamber seen by IHUZO, these companies represent all sectors of the economy; Education, Finance, Agriculture, Creative ART, Connectivity and Infrastructure, Space, Drone and Robotics, Software development, and management and Manufacturing.
Given their significant role in ensuring that the ongoing digitization of Rwanda society is comprehensive and transformative, the stakes are high for innovators and entrepreneurs to make a case for their businesses, identify opportunities for scale, learn, and lay a strong foundation for rewarding synergies as highlighted in the document.
Additionally, apart from attending and presenting to the Rwanda Day audience, innovators and entrepreneurs are to participate in a 2-day business exploration trip to Boston where according to the document, they are encouraged to leverage the anticipated exposure to pitch their uniqueness to tech innovators and the business community and learn from world-class science labs and innovation hubs present in the City of Boston.
Some of the places the companies are expected to visit are; SolidWorks 3Ds Campus visit, MIT Center for Bits & Atoms+ Media lab, Organic Materials for SMART ELECTRONICS (Prof. Aristote Lab) MIT, Legatum Center MIT, Berkman Klein Center (Internet Governance and AI) Harvard and Brain DEEPTECH by OST.
The document emphasizes that this is all done to give more exposure to companies with an expectation of using the gained experience and contacts made to improve their work back home.
The business trip is organized by the ICT Chamber with support from the Ministry of ICT and Innovation and Private Sector Federation.
